After being released from prison, mob capo Dwight «The General» Manfredi is exiled to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he and a group of unlikely characters build a new criminal empire. Sylvester Stallone’s first starring role in a television series. General Manfredi: I don’t really go to church.

The opening credits sequence features various photographic and painted views, as well as Oklahoma landmarks, superimposed on the New York City landscape: The «Touch the Clouds» Statue of the Sioux Chief; wearing a battle cap and bone choker (breastplate) superimposed on the top of the Brooklyn Bridge The Golden Drill Statue superimposed on the Statue of Liberty The Route 66 Western Gateway Arch superimposed on an «Avenue» in mainline Manhattan. In New York City, the borough of Manhattan is home to several numbered «Avenues»; which intersect with lower-numbered streets. I don’t think any other actor could have played this role.

Sly is bigger than the small screen and got the best lines on this show. I’ve only seen the first episode on YouTube, I don’t have Paramount, but if they released more on YouTube I would definitely watch it. His supporting cast is anonymous, I didn’t recognize any of the other actors.

I think Stallone hit his peak with the Creed movies and this TV show. Age is doing him good. I’m glad he’s out of the action movies I think he’s outgrown.
